After studying acting in Los Angeles California, and working here and there, she came to a cross road in her life, when a voice on her left shoulder said "do the music"! Knowing that this was something to pay attention to, she started to focus on her music through trusting, as she did not know how to write music. A wonderful friend Jim Branca said to her "your limitations are your blessings" so with that in mind, what little she did know about music, things started to take shape.

Lisanne uses her voice as an instrument and loves unusual sounds and rhythms. Global music and foreign languages are a great inspiration, so Lisanne has started to make up words in her own language, so that not understanding a word allows the listener to interpret the feeling for themselves. Peter Gabriel has been a huge influence, performing with a theatrical flare bringing her acting talents to the performance, adding comedy and visuals.

“Lisanne has managed to create sounds that seem to radiate from the core of her being, and the airiness and playfulness of a Celtic genre with the pulsation and rhythms of what is quintessentially African" Quote from Jonathan Scott of the Milagros Cafe in Colorado.

Jack Crowl of Taos said of Lisanne's work "Many of her creations are not songs but syntheses of tones and rhythms of varied and distinctive qualities, sparked by a fusion of voice and instrument. The voice and the instrument, then, become one, and are indistinguishable. Vocally, Lisanne’s control is characterized by perfect pitch, crystal-like clarity and near-olympic range".

It has been and still is the most sacred journey. Experimenting with her own instrument, her voice, brings much joy and through that joy the remembering of ones true self. The beauty and power within that in truth connects us all.
